We’re here to help ease the process by providing you with answers to the questions you should be asking about Senior Living. You also can reach out to one of our team members. We want to equip you with all the information you need to make the best decision.

We know this is a big concern for most middle income seniors and we don’t want you to have to worry about it. So for residents who stay with us for at least two years, we’ll help you apply for Medicaid Waiver and will take that as payment. Please note, Medicaid Waiver is not accepted by The Grove. Talk to our staff to learn more!

Rides to scheduled events away from Oakleaf Village (listed in our monthly newsletter, The Acorn) are available. We also provide one ride per month to medical appointments with additional rides available for a nominal fee.

If a higher level of care becomes needed, your loved one can stay in the same apartment and receive the additional help they require. Just reach out to our Director of Care if you believe more assistance is needed.

This describes the different options available for assisted living. If more help is needed, a higher level of care will be provided. We’ll help you determine the level of care that will ensure a comfortable and safe living situation. Ask your community for their specific details.

Preparing home-style meals that are fresh, tasty and flavorful is a priority. Meals are served three times a day and can be enjoyed in our inviting community dining room. As part of an Assisted Living arrangement, residents can still maintain a level of independence but may require help with daily activities. These may include assistance with:

  • Bathing
  • Grooming
  • Dressing
  • Meals
  • Managing medication
  • Light house cleaning
  • Laundry
  • Transportation

The level of assistance you receive under the Assisted Living option can vary, depending upon your needs at the time. You also can be assured of the availability of professional medical care 24/7.

Nursing home and an Assisted Living community are both options for Senior Living, however, there are significant differences.

If your loved one needs intensive medical care, a nursing home may be the best option because it provides skilled nursing for seniors who need 24-hour supervision and skilled medical services. A nursing home also serves those who need short-term rehabilitation after a hospital stay or a decline in health.

An Assisted Living community, on the other hand, is ideal for seniors who need help with personal needs to maintain their independence. This includes bathing, dressing, cooking meals, taking medication and cleaning the house.

At Oakleaf Village, we’ll help you choose the services that best reflect your loved one’s needs. Our community empowers your parent to maintain independence and enjoy a sense of personal freedom and autonomy.

Independent Living is designed for residents who want to live independently in a senior community with the additional benefits of planned social, cultural and recreational activities. It provides them with an option to age in place, allowing them to have additional resources available to them when they need them.

Memory Care is a specialized program for those who have dementia conditions, like Alzheimer’s. The Grove at Oakleaf Village offers quality, therapeutic care for residents who are in need of these specialized supportive services.

Our professionally trained staff members are committed to treating each individual with care and respect. Our residents have professional assistance and medical care available 24/7.

In Ohio, most seniors pay for Assisted Living by themselves or with help from their family. However, if your loved one has an uncertain financial future, you do have options.

Your loved one can use Veteran Administration benefits, long-term care insurance, and the Assisted Living Medicaid Waiver Program, which is an option at Oakleaf Village after a period of personal pay.

For more information on each of your options, visit our Financial Resources page or contact one of our team members. We’re looking forward to helping you understand your options.

Medicare doesn’t cover Assisted Living expenses. If you go to Medicare’s website, you’ll see that long-term care is not covered by Part A or Part B of Medicare coverage. However, while your loved one won’t find assistance with Medicare, he or she may be eligible for the Assisted Living Waiver through Medicaid.

Unfortunately, private insurance won’t cover Assisted Living fees. However, be sure to visit our Financial Resources page to read about long-term care insurance.

As a Wallick Community, we stand behind our “Always Welcome Guarantee.” We believe in providing high-quality Assisted Living plans that are affordable for seniors who have limited resources or concerns over their future financial condition.

In general, Oakleaf Village Senior Living communities are typically around 10% to 50% more affordable than other Assisted Living options in their local areas.
